installation
Download the Package
After purchasing santos theme please navigate to your downloads tab on Themeforest and find Santos Theme. Click the download button next to Santos theme and choose All Files and document choice, save the package on your computer.
Please unzip the downloaded ZIP File . Inside the extracted folder, you will find Folders like Documentaion , Licencse and XML. Also here you can find your main Theme (Santos) .ZIP and the child Theme folder (Santos Child) .ZIP
Wordpress Requirements
WordPress recommends your host supports:
- PHP version 7.2 or greater
- MySQL version 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.0 or greater (MariaDB Only required if you are not using MySQL)
- The mod_rewrite Apache module
- HTTPS support
Santos Requirements
Santos recommends your host supports:
- PHP version 5.6 or greater
- MySQL version 5.6 or greater
- mod_rewrite Apache module to be activated for pretty permalink
- cURL supported by the server
- allow_url_fopen supported by the server
- upload_max_filesize 10 MB or greater
- memory_limit 128 MB or greater
- max_execution_time 60 or greater
- max_input_vars 1500 Recommended
Upload and install The Theme
When you are ready to install a theme (After unpacked the package), you must first upload the theme main folder (santos) to your server, then you can activate the theme . The theme files can be uploaded in two different ways:
1- FTP Upload:
Using your FTP program, upload the non-zipped santos theme folder into the /wp-content/themes/ on your server.
2- WordPress Theme Manager:
Navigate to Appearance > Add New Themes > Upload. Go to browse, and select the zipped theme folder. Hit (Install Now) and the theme will be uploaded and installed.
Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.
If you get a message says “Are you sure you want to do this?”, This is not a theme bug usually because a web server php setting limitation. Try to check and change your maximum file upload size to more than 8 MB , Santos theme zip file is about 10 MB , in some cases you may also need to change increase your post_max_size as well
Once the theme is uploaded, you just need to activate . Go to WP Menu -> Appearance > Themes and activate Santos theme.
Setup Wizard
Santos quick setup wizard will help you configure your new website This wizard will install the required WordPress plugins and tell you a little about Help & Support options.
If you don't want to go through the wizard, you can skip and return to the WordPress dashboard and install plugins manually.
Manual Activate Plugins
Santos includes 3 plugins that should be installed and activated Santos Core , Visual Composer and Woo-Commerece if you didn't activate these plugin through our setup wizard please visit your WP Menu > Appearance > Install Plugins
1. Santos Core:
Santos Core plugin is required for the theme to work, as it contains all of the theme’s basic functionality
2. Santos Visual Composer:
To use the Santos Visual Composer page builder within your pages content you should activate the js_composer_santos Plugin .

One Click Demo Installation
We add the possibility to install the demo easily by just one click installation setup, this will install pages and configuring theme options and menus, All you need to do is just visit your Appearance > theme options > Import Demo tab > Import Demo.
Important Notes:
- We recommend to run this importer on a clean WordPress installation.
- We recommend setting memory to 256MB Please define memory limit in wp-config.php file Increasing memory allocated to PHP..
- You should install and activate Santos attached plugins before start this operation
- Do not run the importer multiple times , this will result in double content.
- To reset your installation we can recommend this plugin here: Wordpress Database Reset
If you import demo content through one click demo import option , you don't have to go through next manual steps
Manually Import XML files
You can do that by Navigate to WP Menu -> Tools -> Import. and click on WordPress, Choose browse and select the demo xml file provided inside the Theme -> Framework folder -> Assets -> XML -> Unzip choose the demo version and click on Upload File You can select Download and Import File attachments if you want to get and install demo images Finally click Import, The importing will take a few seconds depending on your internet connection Then you should see the success message Import Content Done , Have Fun Now, the demo content installed and you are ready for the next step.
Configure Settings
1. Setting up Menu:
Navigate to Appearance > Menu. Under Menu List select primary navigation. Now click on Save Changes.
1. Setting up Permalinks:
Navigate to Settings > Permalinks. Under Common Settings select post name. Now click on Save Changes.
2. Setting up Front Page:
To set up the Frontpage, you must have page (ex. Home Page) in case you didn't import demo data please create a new one , you can do that by navigating to WP Menu > Pages > Add New.
Under the page text editor section, there are alot of custom metabox options that can use to custom your page (for example: you can remove the default titlebar area from Titlebar Setting metabox) then Click Publish.
Now browse to Settings Reading and change the setting for Front page displays from Your latest posts into A static page.
As you can assign your previously created "Home Page" as the Front Page.
3. Setting up Blog:
To set up the blog, you must have page called (ex.Blog), in case you didn't import demo data please create a new one , you can do that by navigating to WP Menu > Pages > Add New. You can give this page a title of blog
for now you do not have to include any content.
Click Publish. Once you have created your new page, Go to Settings->Reading. Select A static page and assign the blog for Posts Page.
